UV Technology - Principles of uv irradiation

Ultraviolett (uv) radiation is a part of the electromagnetical radiation like the visble light. The physical properties of the uv-radiation may be describe as wave or as particle (photon). The physical and optical laws are valid for the visible light are also valid for uv-radiation. Caused in their biological impacts are three types of uv-irradiation sectors defined

  • UV-A 315 – 380 nm (long waves)
  • UV-B 280 – 315 nm (middle waves)
  • UV-C 100 – 280 nm (short waves)
